“We tell ourselves stories in order to live” - Joan Dideon, 1979
Joi was a passionate storyteller with a big, magnetic personality. Whether it was sharing memories over a meal, recapping the events of her day in an email, or writing poetry, telling stories was the way she invited people to know her. It was how she felt seen; it was how she felt most alive. That is how she will be remembered, through her stories, so please feel free to share your stories of Joi below by signing the digital guest book.
She had a very close relationship with her sisters, Beth and Sue. They spent most of their days together, often enjoying lunch and sharing their thoughts on the day. She was also quite fond of her dogs, who brought her much comfort and joy. She loved watching a TV show or movie with them on her lap.
Joi was preceded in death by her parents, Steven and Janet; her aunt, Vivian; her great grandparents; and her sister, Beth. She is survived by her sister, Sue, and her daughter, Jess (Mike). In accordance with Joi’s wishes, she will be memorialized privately by her family.
