John "Sonny" Sonnefeldt

January 5, 1937 — May 26, 2022

John J. "Sonny" Sonnefeldt, age 85, U.S. Army Veteran. Beloved husband of the late Barbara J. Sonnefeldt, nee Sweders (2001). Loving father of Robin (Paul) Hill, John Sonnefeldt II and Robert (Cari) Sonnefeldt. Cherished papa of Shelby, Paul II and Carlene. Preceded in death by one sister and two brothers. Fond uncle of many nieces and nephews.

Sonny was a 50 year resident of Tinley Park, IL. He was one of the co-founders of BYAC (Brementowne Youth Athletic Club). Sonny was a proud member of Tinley Park American Legion Post 615. He was also a member of the local Tinley Park car club.

Visitation Friday, June 3, 2022 from 4-8 p.m. with a Service at 7:30 p.m. at Colonial Chapel, 15525 S. 73rd Ave. (155th/Wheeler Dr. & Harlem) Orland Park, IL. Interment with Military Honors at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery will take place at a later date.
