John Kooyenga

John W. Kooyenga, age 78, beloved husband for 45 years to the late Audrey H. Kooyenga, nee Litland (2015). Loving father of Arlene (Harry) Hoff and David (Priscilla) Kooyenga. Cherished grandfather of Harrison, John, Aubrey, Elizabeth, Abby, Tom and Ben. Dearest son of the late John and Frances Kooyenga. Dear brother of Patricia (Ben) Diab, the late Glenn (Pam) Kooyenga and the late Douglas (Cathy) Kooyenga. Fond uncle of several.

John was a faithful servant and dedicated Christian educator for 40 years. He taught at Chicago Christian High School and at Trinity Christian College where he was Chairman of the Business Department for many years. Prior to and early in his teaching career, he was a produce manager at Jewel Food Stores. John was a lifelong Cubs fan.

Visitation Friday, February 26, 2021 from 3-8 PM. A Funeral Service to celebrate and honor John's life will be held on Saturday, February 27, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at Colonial Chapel, 15525 S. 73rd Ave., (155th/Wheeler Dr. & Harlem) Orland Park, IL. To uphold safety guidelines, all guests are asked to wear a mask and respect social distancing requirements. A live-stream of the service will be available.
