John De Boer

John De Boer, 103 years old, entered the gates of heaven on Sunday, April 23, 2023. John served as a US Army Major in WWII. He was the beloved husband of the late Edith De Boer, nee Boerema (2013), for more than 70 years; loving father of John (late Carol) De Boer, Judy (Ken Ooms and the late Art Zandstra) Ooms, and Jim (Nancy) De Boer; cherished grandfather of Kim (late Rick) Pedersen, Tom (Leslie) De Boer, Randy (Sheryl) De Boer, Jodi Zandstra, Lisa (late Chris) Laud, Jennifer (late Kevin) Bultema, Joel (Ashley) Zandstra, Eric (Sarah) De Boer, Maria (Steve) Darrow, and Jordan De Boer; dearest great-grandfather of 19; dear brother of William (Alvina) De Boer and the late Richard De Boer, the late Anna Mae Hamstra, and the late Florence Buikema; and fond uncle of many nieces and nephews.

John was the owner of many businesses and served numerous non-profit organizations, including as an elder in his church and also as a board member at Timothy Christian School.

Visitation is Saturday, April 29, 2023 from 9:00 a.m. -11:00 a.m. with a Funeral Service to follow at 11:00 a.m. at Colonial Chapel 15525 S. 73rd Ave. (155th/Wheeler Dr. & Harlem) Orland Park, IL.
