Jodi was kind and fun-loving person with a free spirit. She was a single mom and raised her son Tyler. He was her world. Even through her own struggles she always wanted the best for Tyler. She was popular with his friends and always welcomed them and loved feeding them all. She became lovingly known as “Mama Bear”.
Jodi grew up in Hazel Crest and went St. Annes, Prairie Hill JH (National Junior Honor Society) and Hillcrest High School.
In her life, she loved her career as a travel agent and took advantage of all the benefits of travel. As a people person, she also worked as a server. Whatever she did, she did it well and put 100% into it.
She was very close to her dad John E. Lawlor who pre-deceased her in 2016 and they are now reunited.
Jodi had a good heart and in the end she gave the greatest gift of all. Through GIFTS OF HOPE, giving life and hope to another family. She will continue to live through others.
She is survived by her son Tyler Wellever. Her Mother and Step-Father Terry (Therese) and Charlie (Charles) Umecker. Brother John J. Lawlor, Step-Sisters Jennifer (Kent) Pointer and Julie (Brian) Groskopf. Emma Lawlor, Jared Lawlor and Benjamin Groskopf, her Niece and Nephews whom she dearly loved. Nancy Kroll, Rick and Terry Pagano, her Uncle and Aunts. Loved and will be missed by many cousins, friends and extended family.
