Joann Sheehan

JoAnn M. Sheehan (Reidy) passed away April 30, 2024 after a brief illness. JoAnn was born in Chicago on August 15, 1934 to the late Gerald and Mary (Deacy) Reidy. She was a graduate of St Adrian’s grammar school and Aquinas High School.

JoAnn was a self taught seamstress creating everything from day wear to evening gowns. She even created an entire ensemble to go with a a pair of earrings.

JoAnn was an avid bowler for 75 years, starting in high school and ending just a few weeks before her passing. She also took up golf at 40 and played for the next 35 years.

JoAnn also loved to travel and was fortunate enough to visit Ireland several times as well as England, Italy, Japan, Hong Kong, and Canada. Spending few weeks in Naples, Florida during the winter was also an annual event.

JoAnn was predeceased by her husband of 55 years, Fred M. Sheehan, Jr., and her brother James. She leaves behind her son Dr. F. Michael (Rena)Sheehan of Tinley Park, IL, son Patrick (Sue) Sheehan of St. Ignatius, MT, and daughter Kathleen Ames (Bill) of Bow, NH. She was a loving Grandma Jo to Tyler Sheehan, Dylan Sheehan, and Sean Sheehan.

Services will be held at St. Stephen Deacon and Martyr Church, 17500 S. 84th Ave., Tinley Park, IL on Saturday, July 6, 2024. Memorial Visitation will start at 9:30 a.m. followed by Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be private.
