Jimmie David Weaver, 76, went to be with his Savior after a three year battle with cancer on Thursday, May 8th 2025. To all who knew him, he was a godly, kind, loving, hard-working man.
He was born August 14th, 1948 to Reba and James Weaver in Alabama and grew up in Chicago, IL. He served in the U.S. Army for two years. He came to know the Lord in the early 1970’s at Ashburn Baptist Church in Chicago. There he met his beloved wife, Rose, and while dating they worked together ministering to those with special needs. They were later married at Ashburn in 1978.
Jimmie enjoyed working as an industrial welder for several years. In 1985 he graduated from DeVry Institute of Technology and went on to work in manufacturing for 30 years.
Jimmie is survived and missed by his loving wife Rose of 47 years; and his son, Joshua Weaver (Rachel Weaver), and his daughter, Rachel Graniczny (Ben Graniczny) and their children: Calla Lilly, Ezekiel James, Phinehas Louis, and Magnolia Jovy, his grandchildren who he cherished.
Jimmie is also survived by his sister Linda Moore, and his brothers Gary (Diane), Mitchel, and Richard (Sue), as well as many nieces and nephews.
Jimmie is preceded in death by his loving mother Reba and father James, and his brothers Robert, Chester, his cherished brother John, and his brother in law Ed Moore.
Visitation will start at 4pm and a
service to celebrate Jimmie’s life will follow at 7pm on Friday, May 16th
at Moraine Valley Church in Palos Heights, where Jimmie worshipped and grew in his relationship with the Lord for over 30 years. 6300 W 127th Street, Palos Heights, IL 60463.
