Jay Van Dahm, Sr.

May 18, 1910 — January 16, 2006

Jay “Bud” Van Dahm, Sr., age 95, beloved husband of Evelyn, nee Beukema, and the late Elizabeth “Betty” nee Beukema. Loving father of Jay Jr., George (Mary), and Joan (Dale) Essenburg. Dearest grandfather of nine and great-grandfather of 16. Preceded in death by six sisters and two brothers. Fond brother-in-law of Marjorie Beukema Metcalf. Dear uncle of many nieces and nephews. Mr. Van Dahm was a new car dealer for 63 years having owned and operated South Racine Nash/Rambler in Chicago and VanDahm Lincoln Mercury, Inc. in Oak Lawn. He retired at the age of 88. He was a lifelong member of Calvary Church of Orland Park and served on the Board of Directors for Chicago Christian High School and Trinity Christian College, both in Palos Heights. Visitation Thursday 3-9PM at Colonial Chapel 15525 S. 73rd Ave. (155th/Wheeler Dr. & Harlem) Orland Park. Lying in state Friday from 10:00 a.m. until time of funeral service 11:00 a.m. at Calvary Church of Orland Park 15101 S. 80th Ave. Interment private at Chapel Hill Gardens South.
