Jacquelyn Rae Brown Sierman

August 15, 1952 — December 20, 2025

Jackie passed away overnight in her sleep on December 20, 2025, at the age of 73. She was a selfless, over-accomplishing, beautiful, strong woman – an extraordinarily gifted musician and music teacher (piano prodigy & voice of an angel), a devoted single mother of three, and a loving wife – who radiated boundless joy, faith, love, kindness, and compassion for others across all facets of her life and with every person her life touched, perhaps most notably the children who were lucky enough to call her their mom or their music teacher.

Jackie was a ray of light and social butterfly. Known as a genuinely happy person, she always had something positive and loving to say. Her warmth, optimism, and gentle encouragement made others feel welcomed and valued. She lived a devoted, godly life, guided by her faith, which she expressed through compassionate kindness, service, and a deep love for others.

As a music teacher, Jackie focused on childhood education and excelled at teaching piano, choir and music theory, inspiring generations of students. After her degree from Indiana University’s renowned Jacob’s School of Music, she traveled to Hungary and studied the Kodály Method of child-centered music education, embracing the experience with enthusiasm, curiosity, and joy. Teaching and playing music was more than a profession to her – it was a calling.

She is survived by her beloved husband John Sierman; her cherished children, Jason Edward Sierman, Jessica Rae Sierman, and Jonathan Oliver Sierman; her grandchildren, Caden and Aylexys; and her sister Lisa Brown Molitor.  Jackie was preceded in death by her mother, Bernice (Hartman) Brown; her father, Oliver Brown; her sisters, Susan and Edith; and her brother, Jonathan.

Jackie will be remembered for her joyful heart, unwavering faith, generosity of spirit, and lifelong dedication to music and education. Her legacy lives on through the many lives she touched, especially the students she inspired, the children she raised, and the family she loved so deeply. She will be forever remembered, cherished, and profoundly missed.
