Howard L. Shong, Jr., age 61, beloved husband for 41 years to Cynthia, nee Hester. Loving father of Christy Shong, Robert (Tara) Shong, and Michael Shong. Cherished grandfather of Charlie and James. Dear brother of Suzan (late Rickey) Klimek, Patricia (John) Murray, Ronald (Michelle) Shong, Debra (Mark) Brown, Daniel (Joanna) Shong, and the late Clarice Banghart. Dear uncle of many nieces and nephews. Fond son-in-law of Patricia Hester and brother-in-law of the late Steven Hester.
Howard enjoyed his career as a Local 1 Ironworker. He was a die-hard Cubs fan as well as a gifted woodworker. His pride and joy were his two grandsons. Howard loved the Lord with all his heart and soul after being saved at the age of 19.
