Herbert R. Kaysen

Herbert R. Kaysen, age 88, beloved husband for 68 years to Carol Kaysen, nee Olson. Loving father of Michael (Susan) Kaysen, Patty (Samuel) Vartanian and Debra (late James) Thome. Cherished grandfather of Kathleen (Sam) Ellis, Daniel (Kristi) Bolbat, Laura Bolbat, Ryan (fianceé Kelly) Thome, Thomas Kaysen, Carly (Bryce) Gorman and Tom Vartanian.  Dearest great-grandfather of eight. Dear brother of Michael (Kathy) Kaysen, Sharon (Jim) Kehoe, Claude Jr. (late Doris) Kaysen and the late Claudette (Ken) Golden and the late Bernard Kaysen. Fond uncle of many nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by his beloved dog, Sammy.

A proud union member of Pipefitters Local 597 for 60 years, Herb took great pride in his work and the relationships he formed over the years. He lived for his grandkids and great-grandkids and was a lifelong Chicago Cubs and Bears fan. 

Visitation Monday, August 31, 2026 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 7800 W. McCarthy Road, Palos Heights, IL from 10:00 a.m. until time of Funeral Service 11:00 a.m. Interment Chapel Hill Gardens South, Oak Lawn, IL.
