Henry Ipema

Henry W. "Hank" Ipema, age 90, US Army Korean War Veteran, beloved husband for 50 years to the late Edith M. "Edie", nee Doorn (2008). Loving father of David (Laura) Ipema, Donna (Ted) DeBoer, and Deanne (Ken) Speelman. Cherished grandfather of Melissa (Jensen) Varghese, Michelle (Erik) Ladomersky, Steven (Lauren) Ipema, and Melanie Ipema; Joshua (Rachel) DeBoer, Alyssa (Johnny) Vazquez, and Cody DeBoer; Tara Speelman, Jenna Speelman, and Paige (Tommy) Simmons. Dearest great-grandfather of Cora, Ari, and Anders Varghese; Jay and Reid Ladomersky; Maverick Henry Ipema; Silas DeBoer; and Miguel Vazquez. Devoted son of the late William and Irene Ipema. Dear brother of Peter and preceded in death by his brothers Alexander, Albert, William Jr., Edward and his sisters Susanne Pruim, Anjean VanDerLaan, Irene "Babe" Leep, and Brenda Carlson. Fond brother-in-law of Lois (Edward) Damstra and the late Dorothy (late John) Sterenberg. Dearest uncle of many nieces and nephews. The family would like to give a special thank you to Hank's caregiver Dolores Dayon.

Hank was a dedicated hard worker who founded Ipema Concrete in 1959.

Visitation Thursday, July 20, 2023 from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 Noon with a Funeral Service to follow at 12:00 Noon at Colonial Chapel, 15525 S. 73rd Ave. (155th/Wheeler Dr. & Harlem) Orland Park, IL. Interment with Military Honors to follow at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, IL.
