Gunther "Duke" Strehl

August 10, 1953 — October 15, 2026

Gunther “Duke” Strehl, age 73, Blood bought child of God and joint heir with Jesus. Beloved husband for 51 years to Valerie, née Glatzhofer. Loving father of Jeremy (Jeramie) Strehl, Rebecca (Joey) Merichko, and the late Jacob Strehl. Cherished grandfather of Liam and Charlie. Survived by his dear brother Gary (Bonnie) Strehl and his dearest brothers-in-law Roger (Debbie) Glatzhofer and Terry (Phyllis) Glatzhofer. Dear uncle of several nieces and nephews.

Went to be with Jesus October 15, 2026, returning with Christ to meet us again at the Rapture of the Saints, 1 Thessalonians 4:17.

Gunther was a man of many interests, a wonderful sense of humor, and a deep love for his family. He enjoyed working with his hands and had a special talent for building intricate models, clocks, music boxes, miniature working models, and 3D puzzles. His interests also included motorcycles, model airplanes, drones, and trains. He loved creating, building, and discovering something new.

Above all, Gunther treasured time with his family. He enjoyed fishing with his grandson Liam, building Legos with Charlie, and making lasting memories through camping trips, family vacations, and playing games together.

Gunther was a keeper of family traditions. From Christmas gatherings and birthday phone calls to the annual tradition of the Indy 500, he made sure the people he loved knew they were remembered. He enjoyed bringing everyone together, sharing laughter, and creating memories that his family will cherish for years to come.

He took great pride in providing for and caring for his family. His love was expressed not only in words but also through his actions, his generosity, and his willingness to help those around him. He deeply loved his wife, Valerie, and was truly her knight in shining armor.

Gunther leaves behind a legacy of faith, love, laughter, and cherished family memories. His care and love for those around him will never be forgotten.

In loving memory of his care and love for us all.
