Gertrude Parker age 88 from Chicago, Illinois, passed away on April 4, 2024. She was born on October 21, 1935, in Chicago, Illinois. Gertrude was a food server for over 20 years at Enrico’s family restaurant. Her happiest memories were the times she spent with her grandchildren, knitting, and hunting for treasures at thrift stores.
She leaves behind her loving children, Greg Mulligan, Linda Larson (Greg), Pam Tallman (Rick), Don Parker (Amy), Kim Swanson (Donald), and Dawn McGovern.
Her legacy will continue through her grandchildren, Stephen Dickinson (Andrea), Colin McGovern (Jenna), Nicholas Swanson, Taylor Rodriguez (Ryan), Grant Braband, Matthew Swanson, Audra Mulligan, Greg Mulligan, Jr. (Lhea), Erin Evosevich (Scott), Heather Larsen, Brett Tallman, and Lynnelle Nadeau (Logan).
She was also blessed with a several great grandchildren Ava Dickinson, Harper Evosevich, Sloan Evosevich, Ryker Larsen, Trent Nadeau, Nora Nadeau, Sydney Mulligan, Callan Mulligan and Grisham Long.
She is survived by her brother, Butch (Donna), and her sisters, Gerry McCarthy, Flora Fritz, and Betty Fritz. Gertrude was reunited in death with her parents, Lambert and Elizabeth Vinke and her siblings Jessie Vinke, Elsie Medema, Casey Vinke, John Vinke, and Hank Vinke.
A woman of strong character and a warm heart, Gertrude's memory will be cherished by all who were fortunate to meet her.
Visitation Tuesday, April 9, 2024 at Colonial Chapel, 15525 S. 73rd Ave. (155th/Wheeler Dr. & Harlem) Orland Park, IL from 3:00-8:00 p.m. with a Funeral Service at 7:00 p.m. Burial Thursday, April 11, 2024 at Fairmount-Willow Hills Cemetery, 9100 S. Archer Ave., Willow Springs, IL. Please meet inside the gate at 95th Street and 104th Avenue at 9:45 a.m.
