Gertrude O. Kramer

January 30, 1927 — September 11, 2025

On Thursday, September 11th, 2025, our beloved mother, Gertrude Olga Kramer, was called home to be with the Lord Jesus Christ. She lived a life rooted in faith, devoted to Christ, and guided by the teachings of the Holy Bible.

Born to William and Martha Haupt in Chicago, IL, on January 30th, 1927, and baptized into the faith February 27th, 1927, Gertrude attended St. Andrew Lutheran School and Luther Institute. She married, then raised a family on the southside of Chicago, singing in the church choir, volunteering at Christ Hospital (Oak Lawn, IL) and serving on the Ladies Guild of Luther High School South for many years.

Gertrude Olga Kramer was a woman of unwavering belief, whose love for the Lord shone through every aspect of her life. She found joy in prayer, strength in scripture, and peace in the promises of eternal life. Gertrude shared her faith through kindness, compassion, and an unyielding trust in God’s plan.

As a mother, Gertrude raised her children in the ways of the Lord, teaching them to love, to serve, and to trust in Him always. She found comfort in her Confirmation verse: Revelation 3:20—"Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me." Gertrude now rests in the arms of her Savior, free from pain and sorrow, rejoicing in the presence of the Almighty.

Gertrude Olga Kramer is reunited in Heaven with loving husband Clarence Rheinhard Kramer, parents William and Martha Haupt, and brother Raymond and sister-in-law MaryAnn Haupt. Gertrude is survived by her children, Linnea Kramer and Timothy Kramer (Christy); cherished grandchildren, Sarah Kramer, Erich Kramer (Emily) and Rebekah Kramer, and; two precious great-grandsons, Joel and John, who will carry on her legacy of faith and love. While we grieve Gertrude’s passing, we find solace in the hope of Christ’s resurrection and the assurance that we will one day be reunited in God’s eternal kingdom.

A public service proclaiming the marvelous and gracious works of our God and Savior, Jesus, of His death and resurrection, and of the hope that each Christian has for the journey through death to eternal life will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church, 6850 W. 159th St., Tinley Park, IL on Tuesday, September 16, 2025 with a visitation from 9:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. and a Funeral Service to follow at 11:30 a.m. Interment Bethania Cemetery, Justice, IL.
