George Zylstra

George J. Zylstra, age 75, late of Sturgis, MI, formerly of Alsip, IL, passed away on June 16, 2024. Beloved husband for 55 years to Phyllis R. Zylstra, nee Bos. Loving father of Timothy (Shelly) Zylstra and Robert (Julie) Zylstra. Cherished grandfather of Timothy Jr., Elizabeth (Brandon), Ashley, Michael and Adrianna. Dearest great-grandfather of Emerson. Devoted son of the late George and Alice (nee Van Howe). Dear brother-in-law of Gilbert (Ruth) Bos, Ilene (Warren) Lenderink, the late Shirley (late Roger) Medema and the late Henry (Mary Lou) Bos. Fond uncle of many nieces and nephews.

George was a retired electrician. Member of IBEW Local 134 with over 50 years of service. George's greatest joy was his family. He also found great satisfaction doing side jobs for friends and family who were needing electrical help.

Visitation Monday, June 24, 2024 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. with a Funeral Service to follow at 7:00 p.m. at Colonial Chapel, 15525 S. 73rd Ave. (155th/Wheeler Dr. & Harlem) Orland Park, IL. Burial private at Chapel Hill Gardens South, Oak Lawn, IL.
