George R. Schaaf, Sr.

George R. Schaaf, Sr., age 91, US Army Veteran, beloved husband for 46 years to the late June B. Schaaf, nee Wondaal (2004). Loving father of George (Kris) Schaaf, Jr., Donna (Rich) Deckinga, Barbara (Trish) Schaaf, Linda (Kevin Carlson and the late Dave) Stuursma and Bob (Carla) Schaaf. Cherished grandfather of Steven, Austin, Shea, Rachel, Tiffany (Bryan), Brian (Caitlin), David (Brittany), Justin (Kendall), Joel (Melanie) Andy, Bob Jr. (Abby), Mark, and Tommy. Dearest great-grandfather of nine. Fond brother of Clareen (late Jim) Sluis and the late Jean (late Marty) Alderden, the late Clarence (Bea) Schaaf and the late Fred (late Marcia) Schaaf. Dear uncle of many nieces and nephews.

George was the founder of Schaaf Glass and Schaaf Window, leaving a lasting legacy in the industry. He had a passion for antique tractors and cars, collecting them with great enthusiasm. As a talented athlete, George was honored to be inducted into the 16" Softball Hall of Fame. Beyond his business and hobbies, George was a devoted and faithful supporter of Christian schools, generously giving back to help others grow and succeed.

Visitation Monday, June 23, 2025 from 3-8PM at Colonial Chapel 15525 S. 73rd Ave., (155th/Wheeler Dr. & Harlem) Orland Park. Lying in State Tuesday, June 24, 2025 at Orland Park Christian Reformed Church, 7500 W. Sycamore Dr., Orland Park, IL 60462 from 9:00AM until time of Funeral Service 10:00AM.  A live stream of the service will be available.
