George N. Nuestro

George N. Nuestro, age 85, of Orland Park, passed away peacefully on December 2, 2025, surrounded by family. Beloved husband for 57 years to Ofelia “Fely” Nuestro, nee Quiroz. Loving father of Jennifer (Gilead Fishel) Nuestro and Joel (Theresa) Nuestro. Cherished grandfather “Lolo” of Conner and Cooper. Dear brother of Christina Agbigay and preceded in death by Eleodora Nuestro, Gelacio Nuestro, Acislo Nuestro, Rosita Nuestro, Celso Nuestro, Natividad Nuestro and Josefino Nuestro. Devoted son of the late Teofilo and Clara Nuestro. Dearest uncle of many nieces and nephews.

George was born in Indang, Cavite, Philippines. He graduated from Mapúa Institute of Technology and came to the United States in 1968 to work for Boeing. He went on to have a long and successful career, spending more than 40 years as a mechanical engineer at Sargent & Lundy.

George built a meaningful life grounded in hard work, generosity, and deep devotion to those he loved, especially his wife, Fely. He was known for his strong will, steady kindness, quick humor, fierce loyalty to Chicago sports, and unwavering commitment to family. A life well-lived by a man well-loved, George will be missed greatly.

Relatives and friends are invited to meet directly at St. Julie Billiart Church, 7399 W. 159th St., Tinley Park, IL on Saturday, December 13, 2025 for a Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. A memorial luncheon will follow. Interment private.
