George M. "Mickey" Glasch, age 82, went to be with his Heavenly Father on July 6, 2024. Beloved husband for 56 years to Kathleen, nee Mulvihill. Loving father of Michael (Elizabeth) Glasch, Tara (Claudio Dorkin) Mathew, and Meghan (Ben) Darnell. Cherished grandfather of Shane and Luke Mathew; Christian, Alexandria, and Xavier Darnell. Dear brother of James (Yvonne) Glasch. Fond brother-in-law of Raymond (late Mary Kay) Mulvihill and Patrick (late Diane) Mulvihill. Dearest uncle of Keith (Margaret) Glasch, Suzette (Jeff) Doligale, Patrick (Laura) Mulvihill, Timothy (Katie) Mulvihill and Jennifer (Gil) Lara.
Mickey was a man who truly loved and served the Lord. He kept a piece of paper with a list of family and friends that he prayed for every single morning. He touched the lives of everyone around him with his absolute kindness and silly sense of humor (Dad Jokes).
In 1960 Mick was part of the very first graduating class at Brother Rice Highschool in Chicago, IL. He then went on to obtain a bachelor’s degree in education. In 1967 he met the love of his life, Kathy, while attending a ski club meeting that was held at The Scottsdale Bowl in Chicago, IL. They wed shortly after, in June of 1968. He was a Chicago Public School Teacher for 26 years before moving to Chattanooga, TN, where he took part in opening an alternative middle school. A few years later, he returned to Illinois and was a schoolteacher at Stone Church Christian Academy in Palos Heights, IL, while traveling for ministry with his wife Kathy.
He enjoyed reading sci-fi books, skiing, skating & bowling. Anyone who knew him knows that target shooting was his passion. He was a member of The South Suburban Sportsman’s Club for many years, his favorite place to visit. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family. His sweet gentle, yet strong spirit, will be missed by so many.
