George Cizmas

George G. Cizmas, age 85, beloved husband for 62 years to Joan R. Cizmas, nee DeMuzzio. Loving father of Dannielle (Jeff) Cunningham and Denise (Gary) Sexton. Proud grandfather of Derek (Katie) Sexton and Nicolas (Angela) Sexton. Dearest great-grandfather of Mackenzie and Brooklyn. Dear brother of Richard (Cindy) Cizmas and Kathie (Art) Anderson. Fond uncle of many nieces and nephews.

George was a longtime tire salesman for Bridgestone/Firestone and Goodyear. He enjoyed playing golf and hunting and sang in church choirs in Michigan and in South Chicago. In years past, George also enjoyed meeting up with friends at the Charlie Horse Restaurant in Orland Park. He was an avid fan of both the Chicago Cubs and the Chicago Bears. George absolutely loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Through his work, his children's and grandchildren's activities, he touched many lives and was a blessing to all that knew him. George had a famous saying "Don't look back unless you want to go that way."

Visitation Tuesday, August 22, 2023 from 3-8 p.m. Funeral Service Wednesday, August 23, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at Colonial Chapel, 15525 S. 73rd Ave. (155th/Wheeler Dr. & Harlem) Orland Park, IL. Entombment Good Shepherd Cemetery, Orland Park, IL.
