Frieda Machamer

Frieda H. Machamer, age 96, went to be with the Lord on June 2, 2020 in Crestwood, IL. Frieda is preceded in death by her parents; Hermina and John Schmidt, siblings John Schmidt Sr., and Helen (Schmidt) Klinger, and beloved husband Ivan G. Machamer. She is survived by nieces, nephew, cousins and stepchildren.

Frieda was born July 10, 1923 and spent her entire life amongst family and friends in the Chicago area. A dedicated employee of many years, Frieda began her career at Libby, McNeill & Libby in Chicago and retired from there in the 1980s. Frieda loved music and especially dancing. She was a talented ballroom dancer and it was on the ballroom dance floor that she met the love of her life Ivan, who she danced in the arms of for over 20 years and is dancing with again.

Frieda loved her extended family in the Chicago area and we are so grateful for the support and care that she received from the late Al VanKoningsveld (2018) and his wife Lyn.

Due to the unfortunate circumstances surrounding COVID-19 and for the safety of the family and community a private graveside service will take place at Evergreen Cemetery, Evergreen Park, IL.
