Fred H. Brouwer

January 2, 1941 — July 21, 2025

Fred H. Brouwer, age 84, passed away peacefully at home on July 21, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.

Fred was the devoted husband of Paulette Brouwer for over 60 years. He was a proud father to Fred H. Brouwer, Jr. and Michael Brouwer (Linea), and a cherished grandfather to Faith and Michael Brouwer. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Alice Brouwer.

Fred worked as a dedicated Chicago Journeyman Plumber for over 30 years. A true enthusiast of life, he was an avid NASCAR/NHRA fan and had a deep love for the outdoors. He especially treasured his fishing trips to Canada with his brothers. Fred also enjoyed taking his Corvette to local car shows, traveling to California and Hawaii with his son Fred, and working on cars with his son Michael.

Above all, Fred found his greatest joy in spending time with his grandchildren, who were the light of his life.

He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

A celebration of Fred’s life will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, September 13, 2025, at Lake Katherine Nature Center & Botanic Gardens, 7402 West Lake Katherine Drive, Palos Heights, IL.

“Jesus said to her, ‘I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die.’” – John 11:25–26
