Frances E. ''Frannie'' Carlson

September 2, 1920 — April 21, 2014

Frances E. “Frannie” Carlson, nee Erickson, age 93, beloved wife of the late Clifford Carlson (2005). Loving mother of Paul (Lynette) Carlson, John (Lynette) Carlson, and the late Linda (Scott) Farrell. Cherished grandmother of Erika Carlson, Michael (Lauren) Carlson, Alan (Brooke) Carlson, James Carlson, Anna Farrell, and Steven Farrell. Dearest great-grandmother of four. Preceded in death by her brothers Robert Erickson and Norman Erickson. Frances served as a Red Cross volunteer during World War II in Chicago, was an active member of PEO, her church choir, Women’s Missions Society and numerous community volunteer charity organizations. She loved to play the piano and was well known for her talent. She had many friends and always had time for friends and family which spanned several generations. Frances graduated from Calumet High School and attended Lawrence University. She lived most of her adult life in the Beverly/Morgan Park area of Chicago, spent her summers at the family summer house in Bethany Beach, Michigan and lived the last nine years at Smith Crossing Retirement home in Orland Park, IL. Visitation Thursday, April 24, 2014 from 3:00 p.m. until time of Funeral Service 8:00 p.m. at Colonial Chapel 15525 S. 73rd Ave. (155th/Wheeler Dr. & Harlem) Orland Park, IL. Burial private at Oak Hill Cemetery, Chicago, IL. Memorials may be made to Bethany Beach Tabernacle – Fran Carlson, 1427 Ada Lane, Naperville, IL 60540.
