Forest Tripp Jr.

Forest Tripp Jr. passed away peacefully on August 12th 2019 at Franscican Hospital in Hammond, IN. He was a loving husband to Juanita (Brownlee) Tripp who preceded him in death on June 29th 2019.

Forest often referred to by his family as “Junior” or “Tripp” was born in Fitzhugh, Arkansas to Helen Abron and Forest Tripp Sr. on November 27, 1933. He excepted Christ at an early age and continued his faith throughout the remainder of his life. For many years, Forest served as a Deacon at Welcome Missionary Baptist Church in Phoenix, IL.

Forest was very proud of his career as a driver; throughout his life he drove everything from limousine’s to tracktor trailers. He was excited to pass this trade off to many of his family members including his 3 sons.

After retirement, he enjoyed spending time in his yard and keeping in touch with his immediate and extended family. Forest was big on family and history. One of his joys was ensuring that we were all connected and stay connected; often picking up the phone to ensure that everyone was aware of what was happening with family. Many will remember him for always opening up his home or telephone number for anyone needing help & support or prayer. 12911 S. Peoria was a revolving door for family & friends. He and his his wife Juanita will not only be missed by his immediate and extended family, but their kindness and love will be missed by an entire community.

Forest Tripp Jr. leaves his memory to be cherished by:

His loving siblings, Joyce Teen Robinson; Connie (Norman) Steward; Ulysses Abron; Ynez Anthony; Jackie Anthony-Oliver; Butch Anthony; Portia Powell and Carl Lewis Tripp. Preceded him in death are Cora Ellis, Arneda Wyatt, and Margaret Keefer.

His loving children, Ronald (Dana) Tripp, Forrest Tripp, Cornelius (Crystal) Tripp and the late Djuana Conley

He also leaves many loving memories with 11 Grandchildren and 12 Great-Grandchildren and a host of family and friends.

Visitation Friday 5:00-7:00pm. Prepast Saturday 10:00am at the Maher Funeral Home 17101 S. 71st Ave Tinley Park (located in the Olde Tinley Library 1 block east of Harlem on 171st St). Visitation 11:00am until time of Funeral Service at 12:00pm. Interment private.
