Evelyn Louise DeBruin Jonker, age 89, passed peacefully into the waiting arms of Jesus on October 15, 2021.
She was born on May 12, 1932 in Oskaloosa, Iowa, the youngest of ten boisterous farm kids. No matter where life took her, she always thought of herself as an Iowa farm girl and loved her vegetable garden. Evelyn pursued life actively. She led neighborhood Bible studies, planned family camping trips all over the country, sold religious books, sought out antiques at flea markets, enjoyed bluegrass festivals and organized the senior group bus tours at Park Lane Christian Reformed Church. She will be remembered for her zest for living, her positivity and her wonderful sense of humor.
Evelyn is survived by her husband of 67 years, Thaymer, children Dan (Bernice), Tom (Patricia), Ann Wise, Jim (Cindy), Sue (Ron) Medendorp, seventeen grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother Marvin (Jeanette) DeBruin.
