Eugene Smith, age 86, passed away February 3, 2021, at his home in Las Vegas, NV. Former longtime resident of Orland Park, IL. Beloved husband of 61 years to Mary Ann Smith, nee Slominski. Loving father of Steven and Christopher (Linda) Smith, Orland Fire Protection District, Retired, and Evelyn (Russell) Maracic. Cherished grandfather of Valerie (Brian) Fishback, Natalie Studebaker, Andrew Smith, Robert Smith, and Michael (Emily Janotta) Maracic, Kelly Roche, and Jason Maracic. Proud great-grandfather of Dylan, Paige, Ryan, Jaydon, Jesse, Kyler, and extended family.
Gene was a hard worker, retired from Western Electric, U.S. Army Veteran, family man, spent many years as Boy Scout troop leader, and a former devoted member of St. Julie Billiart Parish in Tinley Park, IL.
Cremation private.
A burial service will take will take place at Orland Memorial Park Cemetery at a later date.
