Eugene T. "Gene" Phillips, age 93, born on May 17, 1929, went to be with his Lord and Savior on September 19, 2022. Beloved husband for 67 years to the late Elaine M. Phillips, nee Johnson (2020). Loving father of Craig (Kim) Phillips and Nancy (Burt) Kaper. Cherished grandfather of David (Becky) Phillips, Mark (Sarah) Phillips, Grant (Amanda) Kaper, Allison Kaper, and Reed Kaper. Dearest great-grandfather of Eli, Cohen, Aniston, Laelyn and Jessa.
A resident of Palos Heights for 64 years. Gene graduated from Fenger High School in 1947. He retired from U.S. Steel after 35 years of service. Gene served faithfully in various roles at Moraine Valley Church for over 40 years. He enjoyed traveling, entertaining, investing and spending time at Lake Katherine.
Private family services will be held at a later date.
