Eugene Kress

Eugene D. Kress, age 90, WWII US Army Air Corps Veteran. Beloved husband of the late Helen G. Kress, nee Shishow (2006). Loving father of Connie (Dr. John) Fleming, Roger (the late Marie) Kress, Cathy (Bill) Mercer and Russell (Yolanda) Kress. Cherished grandfather of Anna (Chad) Negley, Catherine (Mike) Tong, Laura (Jason) Ghera, John Charles (Becky) Fleming; Tim (Mary) Kress; Jill and Ray; and Linette Kress. Dearest great-grandfather of 18. Fond brother of the late Richard Kreski and the late Zennia Bankowski. Dear uncle of many nieces and nephews.

Retired in 1989 from Chicago Belt Railroad after 39 years of service. He served as an airplane mechanic in the Army Air Corps. Eugene loved to spend time with his family outdoors camping, fishing and boating. He also enjoyed working in his garden.

Visitation Thursday, March 9, 2017, 3-8 p.m. Funeral Service Friday, March 10, 2017, 10:00 a.m. at Colonial Chapel, 15525 S. 73rd Ave. (155th/Wheeler Dr. & Harlem) Orland Park, IL. Interment with Military Honors to follow at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, IL.
