Esther F. Moennich

Esther Felice Moennich, nee Botte, age 93, born in Chicago on May 14, 1919, entered peacefully into her well-deserved rest January 2, 2013. Loving and devoted wife, mom, grandma, “GG”, and friend to all. Predeceased by many who must be joyously welcoming her home: Beloved husband Edmund Joseph Moennich, Jr.; infant daughter Nancy Esther; mother and father Carmela and Vito Botte; sisters Mary Penzo and Florence Gimbel Rouse; brothers-in-law Gino Penzo, Lawrence Gimbel, and Jerry Rouse; nieces Mary Lou Brunke and Lois Grieffendorf; many aunts, uncles, cousins, and a host of treasured friends. Left to cherish a lifetime of beautiful memories are: devoted daughters Susan Moennich of Oak Forest and Linda Maier and husband Richard; granddaughter Sharon Bar and husband Karl; grandson Jeffrey Maier and wife Bridgette; and great-grandchildren, Emma and Noah Bar, and Canna and Garrett Maier, all of Texas. Also surviving are fond nephew and nieces; Donald Gimbel and wife Terry; Laura and Julie Maddox; Barbara Alleruzzo and husband Gian; Kathie McGlaughlin and husband Ron; Daniela Kaner and husband John, and their families, along with cousins, friends and neighbors. Our Mom was loved by everyone who knew her. Her warmth, kindness and laughter brightened countless lives over the years. She loved music, dancing, traveling, fishing, bowling, slot machines, games of all kinds, and creating magic in the kitchen. Most of all, she loved her family and we loved her back. Her final years were made comfortable, secure and contented by her dedicated caregivers and Ingalls Hospice, and we are forever grateful for their tireless care and loving support.
