Erling Ouwerkerk, nee Van Meeteren, age 85, beloved wife for 59 years to the late Louis P. Ouwerkerk (2022). Loving mother of Ragnar (Kimberly) Ouwerkerk and Desiree (Richard) Overzet. Cherished Oma of Danielle Overzet, Richard (Kortney) Overzet, Breanna Overzet, Nicolaas (fianceé Anne) Ouwerkerk, Tiffany (Matthew) Boss, Makayla Ouwerkerk and Jaden Ouwerkerk. Dearest Great-Oma of Grayden Overzet and Coleson Overzet. Dear sister of George Van Meeteren and the late Henry Van Meeteren of The Netherlands and Anton Van Meeteren and the late Andre Van Meeteren of Curacao. Fond sister-in-law of the late Simone Van Der Lee of The Netherlands. Survived by her stepmother Vivian Van Meeteren of Curacao. Kind aunt of many nieces and nephews.

Erling was born in Curacao. She was a vibrant spirit who touched the lives of many. After attending school in the Netherlands, Erling met her beloved husband Louis. Together they embarked on a new adventure, immigrating to Chicago. As a dedicated travel agent, Erling seized the opportunity to explore the world. Fluent in four languages, she connected with people from diverse backgrounds, leaving a lasting impact on all who knew her. Erling will be remembered for her warmth, adventurous spirit, and the love she shared with her family and friends.

The family will receive relatives and friends on Monday, December 2, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. until time of Memorial Service 11:00 a.m. at Orland Park Christian Reformed Church, 7500 Sycamore Dr., Orland Park, IL.
