Elizabeth (Ostrowski) O'Barski

Elizabeth “Betty” O’Barski (née Ostrowski), 94, went to be with her Lord on November 30th, 2023.

Betty is survived by her loving children Suzanne (the late Ronald) Hield and Dr. Timothy Obarski. She was adored by her  Grandchildren Melissa (Jeffery) Strong, Tiffany (Tom) Kotek, Scott (Stacey) Hield, Corinne Obarski, and Kevin (Jennifer) Obarski. Betty was a proud great-grandmother to Madison, Brooklyn and Paul Hield, Olivia Brain, Jordan Strong, Hunter, Annalise and Amelia Obarski. Betty was preceded in death by her devoted husband Paul O’Barski, loving parents Stella and Edward Ostrowski, and faithful siblings Caroline (Gerald) Marks and Ferdinand Ostrowski. At an early age, Betty took an interest in music and, as a teenager, she played the accordion at Polish weddings. As a talented musician, Betty served as the Choir Director and organist at St. Florian Catholic Church in Hegewisch for over 20 years. Visitation Sunday, December 10th at Maher Funeral Home, 17101 71st Ave., Tinley Park, IL 60477 from 3:00pm to 8:00pm. Monday, December 11th, prayers at the funeral home at 9:15am, processing to St. George Catholic Church 6707 175th St., Tinley Park, IL 60477 for 10:00am Mass of Christian Burial. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery, Calumet City, IL.
