Eileen Monica (nee McMullan) Grady. Age 98. Beloved wife of the late William Francis Grady, Jr.  Loving mother of the late John Daniel Grady, Katherine (Thomas) Mangan, Eileen (Dr. Walter) Marbach, Frances (Steven) Barba, Marie (Dr. James) Adamo, and the late Patrick Vincent Grady. Cherished Grandmother of 22 Bridget, Deirdre, Caitlin, Nora, Amy, Peter, John Paul, Julia, Jennifer, Katie, Steven, Melissa, Mary Eileen, Megan, Patrick, Eileen, Ryan Daniel, Therese, Kieran, Courtney, Maggie and Billy.  Great Grandmother of 22, Great-Great Grandmother of 5  Preceded in death by her Irish-born parents, Catherine nee Kirrane and Edward McMullan, and her loving siblings, Sister Mary Eileen, O.P., a Nashville Dominican Sister, Brother Kieran Daniel, F.S.C. a De La Salle Christian Brother, Katherine Gallagher, Veronica Petro, and John Aloysius McMullan, Seaman 2nd Class, recipient of the Purple Heart when killed on the U.S.S. Franklin battleship. Eileen was a loving and dear Aunt to many nieces and nephews; a graduate of Mercy High School, she served many years as President of the Mercy High School Alumnae; as a graduate of Little Company of Mary School of Nursing, Eileen was so proud to be a Registered Nurse and a faithful friend and colleague to many in the nursing profession;  and as Founder of the Illinois Nurses for Life, Eileen was a friend to hundreds in the Pro-Life movement, especially the hundreds of mothers she counseled, and helped save from the heartache of abortion.   Our Mother cherished her Roman Catholic faith and was a very humble and deeply-spiritual daughter of God. She was emphatic in pleading for Masses to be said for her after her death, rather than allowing everyone to say she is already in Heaven.  Our family is devastated by our mother’s sudden and untimely death, she will be greatly missed by all.
