Edward E. Oostema, age 83, U.S. Army Veteran. Best friend and former husband of the late Patricia A. O'Gean. Loving father of Linda (fiancé Brian Nielsen) Mixen, Eugene Oostema and Robert Oostema. Cherished grandfather of Stephanie Mixen and Stacee Oostema. Dear great-grandfather of Damian and Nickolas. Fond brother of MaryAnne Gawley and the late Marge Valentine, Ted Oostema and twin sister Ruth Bulthuis. Uncle of many nieces and nephews.
Ed worked in Public Safety at Palos Community Hospital for many years. He was also an assistant pathologist at Holy Cross Hospital. Ed was a volunteer Chicago Ridge fireman.
Visitation Wednesday, May 8, 2019 from 3-8 p.m. Funeral Service Thursday, May 9, 2019, 11:00 a.m. at Colonial Chapel, 15525 S. 73rd Ave. (155th/Wheeler Dr. & Harlem) Orland Park, IL. Interment Tinley Park Memorial Cemetery.
