Donna M. Pellicci, 77, of Oak Lawn, Illinois, passed away peacefully on July 7, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
Born on September 20, 1947, in Queens, New York Donna lived a life marked by strength, perseverance, and boundless love. She was the beloved wife of the late Mike Pellicci, her one true love. Together, they built a home full of warmth, laughter, and unwavering devotion.
Donna was known for her razor-sharp wit, quick comebacks, and a sense of humor that could light up any room. Even in life’s most difficult moments, she faced challenges with remarkable grace and grit, never losing her spirit or her sense of humor.
She was the fiercely proud mother of Marisa Malgieri (Chris), Danielle Pellicci Park (Ellison), and Michael Pellicci (Robin), and the adoring grandmother of Bowen M. Malgieri and Lincoln M. Pellicci. To her family, she was the heartbeat of every gathering, the keeper of family traditions, and the source of immeasurable love.
She is also survived by her brother, Fred Penna (Mary), and her beloved nieces, Monica and Allesandra Penna, who shared a special bond with their aunt and will carry her memory with them always.
Donna had many passions that brought her joy and made her who she was. A lifelong and loyal New York Mets fan, she followed the team faithfully, through triumphs and heartbreak alike. She enjoyed a good glass of pinot grigio (always on ice), and delighted in cooking meals that brought people together, often feeding not just her family, but anyone who needed a place to feel at home.
Donna’s legacy is one of humor, resilience, deep love, and delicious meals. She will be remembered for her strength, her sass, and the way she made everyone feel like family.
A celebration in honor Donna’s life will be held at a later date to be determined by her children.
In lieu of flowers, the family invites you to raise a glass of pinot grigio, cook something from scratch, or root for the Mets in her honor, and consider a donation to a cause close to your heart.
