Donald De Muyt

Donald J. De Muyt, age 80, of Palos Park, IL, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on August 1, 2023. He was born in Chicago, IL on May 18, 1943, to Edmund and Vera De Muyt. He is survived by his best friend and beloved wife of nearly 57 years Joanne De Muyt, nee Moulos; his children Carrie (Michael) Slager, Julie (Gregory) Kain, and Ken De Muyt; his grandchildren Stephanie (Frank) Greco, Ryan Slager, Nicolle, Katelyn, Joseph, and Samantha Kain; and his sister Patricia (Harry) Benjamin.

Don graduated from St. George High School in 1961 and Loyola University in 1965. He worked as a Certified Public Accountant until his retirement in 2008.

Don loved swimming, the Cubs, playing cards, listening to Elvis, all desserts, and his family. He was always smiling and brought joy and laughter wherever he went. His wisdom and optimism will live on in his loved ones.

Visitation Monday, August 7, 2023 from 3-9 p.m. Funeral Tuesday, August 8, 2023 at 9:30 a.m. from Colonial Chapel, 15525 S. 73rd Ave. (155th/Wheeler Dr. & Harlem) Orland Park, IL to Our Lady of the Woods Church, 10731 W. 131st St., Orland Park, IL. Mass 10:30 a.m. Interment Resurrection Cemetery, Justice, IL.
