Donald E. Cleland, Sr., age 99, WWII U.S. Navy Veteran. Husband of Evelyn Dwyer Cleland and beloved husband for 52 years to the late Catherine Virginia, nee Grove (1999). Loving father of Dr. Donald Jr. (Susan) and Cheryll (Dave) Weakley. Proud grandfather of Andrew Cleland, Daniel Weakley, Amanda Cleland, Rachel (Sean) Shumard and Alex (Sara) Cleland. Dearest great-grandfather of Teagan Shumard. Preceded in death by his brother Clifford Cleland and his sisters Jean Shipley and Bettie Harris.
Retired from U.S. Steel South Works in 1980 with over 35 years of service. Donald was an avid fisherman.
Visitation Saturday, September 30, 2017 from 10:00 AM until time of Funeral Mass 11:00 AM at the St. Francis of Assisi Chapel at Franciscan Village, 1270 Franciscan Dr., Lemont, IL. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Alsip, IL.
