Diane "Dee" B. Mcgovern

Diane B. McGovern nee Demas, 82 yrs., of Chicago, passed away peacefully at home on July 28, 2024. Preceded in death by her parents George and Luella Demas. Loving Mother of Paul J. (Ann) McGovern. Proud grandmother of Sean (Natalie) McGovern, Brendan McGovern (Fiancé Danielle Brin) and Colin McGovern. Beloved sister of Cathy (the late George) Karanikolas, James (the late Barbara) Demas, George Demas, Amy (Paul) Chrzanowski, Greg (Karen) Demas, Lori (Steve) Andreatta and Billy (Jayme) Demas. Fond aunt, great aunt and friend of many. Dee loved her family, was very proud of her grandsons and cherished her little dog Dude. Dee was a dedicated employee of the Nabisco Corporation for 33 years. She enjoyed spending time at family parties, spending time with her neighbors and she also enjoyed watching the birds from her front window. We especially acknowledge Jayme, Billy and Nick for the love and extraordinary care that they gave to Dee.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on August 7, 2024 from 5 pm until the time of Celebration of Life at 7:30 pm. at Maher Funeral Home, 17101 S 71st Ave. Tinley Park, IL 60477. 708-781-9212. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Alzheimer's Association , Illinois Chapter or Paws of Tinley Park , would be appreciated. Interment will be private in Arizona.
