Derek Ooms

Derek S. Ooms, age 40, beloved and precious son of Starr (nee Praeger) and Garry Ooms. Loving brother of Brian (Ann), Adam, Corey (Annie) and Jeremy (Laura). Cherished uncle of Grant, Shane, Cade, Aubrey, Kyle, Emma, Stella and Owen. Dearest nephew, cousin, and friend of many.

Despite his struggles, Derek always placed others' needs before his own and never wanted to be a burden to anyone. He was a lifelong Chicago sports fan, who always enjoyed cheering on the White Sox, Bulls, Bears, and Hawks. Derek was also a fan of professional wrestling and was an enthusiast of superheroes, comic books and movies.

Visitation Friday, June 23, 2017 at Christ Community Church, 13400 Bell Rd., Lemont, IL 60439 from 3-9 PM. Funeral Service Saturday, June 24, 2017, 11:00 a.m. at the church.
