Delia P. Kelly age 90, (née Mullarkey) of Tinley Park.
Passed away peacefully with family by her side on Sunday, November 6, 2016.
Beloved wife of the late Martin J. Kelly for 64 years.
Loving mother of Thomas, Ann, Marian, Carolyn, Patricia, Kevin, Martin, Kolleen and Gene.
Devoted grandmother to nineteen and great-grandmother to eight.
Cherished sister to Annie Garvin, Nellie McDonnell, the late Mary McAtamney and the late Patrick Mullarkey and the late John Mullarkey.
Born in Glencullen, County Mayo, Ireland, she worked as a nurse’s aide in London before marrying there. She crossed the Atlantic by boat with her three small children to join her husband in Chicago in 1955. A devout Catholic, an avid walker and a magnificent waltzer with an infectious laugh, Delia particularly enjoyed traditional Irish music, strawberry sundaes and the political satire of Saturday Night Live. She will be dearly missed.
Visitation Saturday 9 a.m. until time of Funeral Service at 12 p.m. at the Maher Funeral Home 7051 W. 171st Tinley Park.
Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
