David Lee Wynstra, age 75, of Tinley Park, Illinois, formerly of Kenosha, Wisconsin was called to his heavenly home on May 3, 2025 due to complications from interstitial lung disease. Dave was born in Kenosha, Wisconsin September 14, 1949. He was the son of Sydney A. Wynstra and Catholine De Hamer Wynstra, who predeceased him.
Dave graduated from George N. Tremper High School, Kenosha, WI in 1967 and from Carthage College, Kenosha, WI in 1971. He married Carol J. Vis June 5, 1971 at the Escalon, CA Christian Reformed Church. He served in the Army National Guard 1971-1977. He worked at Snap-on Tools, Pizza Hut and was a social worker for Walworth County, WI.
He enjoyed scuba diving, fishing, and running. He was a great family man who enjoyed vacationing with his family. He donated one of his kidneys to his daughter Kimberly in 1998.
He is survived by his wife Carol, and daughters Shannon (Eric) Olson, and Kimberly (Pastor Chris) Pedersen, grandchildren Madeline Olson, Duncan Olson and Anya Pedersen; brother Peter Wynstra and sister Janet (Pastor Rich) Johnson; four nieces and one nephew as well as many other relatives and friends.
A memorial service will be held at Faith Christian Reformed Church, 8383 W. 171st Street, Tinley Park, IL on
Saturday, May 17, 2025
at 11:00AM. Family and friends may visit with the family at the church prior to the service beginning at 10:00AM or following the service while a luncheon is served.
