Mr. David B. Roman, 78, (Ret. CPD), U.S. Army Veteran Vietnam, late of Tinley Park, formerly of Chicago. Beloved son of the late Benedict and Elizabeth (nee Pawlowski). Cherished husband of Marie (nee Kasperek). Devoted father of; Elizabeth Roman and David. Loving brother of; the late Rosemarie (late Michael) Hidalgo, Dale, Betty, Mary and Michelle. Dearest grandfather of; Ryan Hellmann Cassy Hellmann. Fond uncle and friend of many. David was a retired Chicago Police detective and worked on some notable financial crime and burglary cases, thus solving a prolific burglary spree. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved hunting and fishing. He was a history buff and enjoyed world traveling and reading a myriad of books on various subjects. VISITATION Thursday, July 17th, from 10:00am-1:00pm. INTERMENT Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery.at 2:30pm, with Military Honors, following the visitation. Friends and family asked to meet directly at the cemetery as there will be no procession. In lieu of flowers, memorials in David's name to the Alzheimer's Association, Macular Degeneration research, or Breast Cancer research appreciated.
