Clarence Van Dyke

September 22, 1931 — February 27, 2021

Clarence J. Van Dyke, age 89, U.S. Army Veteran. Beloved husband for 57 years to the late Sylvia G. Van Dyke, nee Friesema (2016). Loving father of Kenneth Van Dyke. Fond brother of the late Henry (late Bernice) Van Dyke. Fond brother-in-law of the late Wilma (late Luke) Dykstra and the late Marge (late John) Wiersum. Dear uncle of many nieces and nephews.

Clarence worked for Brinks from 1959-1989. He then worked ten years as a bank messenger and five years as a title company messenger. Clarence was a big fan of Chicago sports. His nickname was "Mr. Sports". His favorite team was the Chicago Cubs. To honor Clarence's memory, all guests are welcome to wear a jersey of their favorite Chicago sports team.

Visitation Sunday, March 7, 2021 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. with a Funeral Service to follow at 4:00 p.m. at Colonial Chapel 15525 S. 73rd Ave. (155th/Wheeler Dr. & Harlem) Orland Park, IL. To uphold safety guidelines, all guests are asked to wear a mask and respect social distancing requirements. Burial private at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, IL.
