Christine R. "Christy" Turner

Christine R. “Christy” Turner, nee Hajek, age 68, of Riverdale, IL passed away peacefully on May 16, 2026 with her family by her side. Christine was born on October 4, 1957 in Chicago, IL.

Christy shared a beautiful lifelong journey of 54 years with her beloved husband Nearl Turner, celebrating 45 years of a deeply cherished marriage. Loving mother to her daughter Terita (Frederick) Irvin, brothers Frank (Lisa) Hajek, Joseph (Lori) Hajek, Thomas Hajek, John Hajek and her sisters Karen (Nick) Papanicholas and Gail Divis. Proud grandmother of Kaylen Irvin, Candace Irvin and Isaiah Irvin. Fond aunt of many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Rudolph and Janet Hajek and her sister Victoria “Vicky” Hajek.

Christy was a teacher at the Chicago Public Schools for many years. She loved spending time with her husband, family and grandchildren and she will be dearly missed by them.

Visitation Saturday, May 30, 2026 from 9:00 a.m. until time of Funeral Service 11:00 a.m. at Colonial Chapel, 15525 S. 73rd Ave. (155th/Wheeler Dr. & Harlem) Orland Park, IL. Interment Homewood Memorial Gardens, Homewood, IL.
