Christine Susan (Nee' Weiland) Stone

Christine S. Stone (nee Weiland), 73, of Tinley Park, passed away peacefully at her home on May 13, 2023. Christine was the cherished wife of Allan T. Stone Jr., devoted mother of Allan E. Stone (Jennifer) and Kimberly Stone, loving sister of Timothy E. Weiland Sr. (Susan) and the late William A. Weiland. She was the dearest grandmother to Claire C. Stone, Kira J. Stone, and Allan J. Stone, beloved daughter of the late William and Caryl Weiland and fond niece of Terrance Ganzer (late Lynda). Christine was also the adored aunt to many nieces and nephews and fur-mom to the departed canines Charlie, Keechy, Dax, Max, and Baxter, and to piggies Worf, Spock, Geordi, Tuvok, and Neelix.

Christine selflessly gave of her time to District 132 in Calumet Park as a school board member and president for 12 years. She proudly worked for Bevlab Veterinary Hospital in Blue Island for many years as well. Christine loved to garden and shared the fruits of her labor with friends and family. She would bake a plethora of cookies and candy at the holidays and gave away her delightful treats as gifts. Christine was a prolific collector, particularly owls (“Owls happen!”) and should have bought stock in Easy Spirit for all their shoes she owned. Always thoughtful, Christine would send cards to her friends and loved ones for many occasions, frequently using a card program on her computer and customizing with her own creative bling. She even took a stab at owning her own crafting business called Stone Wares and would sell her creations at craft fairs and on consignment. Christine appreciated music and particularly enjoyed seeing Burton Cummings, of the Guess Who, live. Christine’s thoughtfulness, generosity, kindness, and dependability were just a few of her greatest gifts. She displayed an optimism on the outside even when things were bleak. Christine will always have a place in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.  Visitation Wednesday, May 17th, from 3-8pm.  Interment Thursday, 10:00 prayers at the funeral home processing directly to Holy Sepulchre Catholic Cemetery.
