Carolyne Schindler

Carolyne A. Schindler, nee Lentfer, age 84, born April 19, 1936 to the late Herman and Elsie (nee Michaelis) Lentfer. Beloved wife for 61 years to Walter Schindler. Dearest sister of twin Richard (Georjean) Lentfer and Frank (Ingeborg) Lentfer. Cherished aunt of Sheryl (Tom) Rotunno, Susan (Craig) Sipich, late Pamela Moadush, Kristina (Robert) Murray, Clinton (Sherry) Lentfer, Jeffrey (Stephanie) Lentfer, Melissa (Robert) Taussig, and Elizabeth (Nick) Osborne. Dear great-aunt of 17 and great-great aunt of six. Fond cousin and friend of many.

Carolyne started her secretarial career at Acme Steel. She later served as secretary at Thorn Creek Reformed Church, and more recently was a devoted administrative employee at Trinity Christian College.

She was a very prayerful and devoted Christian who enjoyed singing in her church choir, participating in Bible studies and volunteering as a Stephen Minister.

She enjoyed knitting, sewing and crocheting, along with other crafts. She was the co-owner of a knit shop with her mother. Her other hobbies included cooking and baking, gardening and biking.

Services for Carolyne are Friday, February 19, 2021 at Colonial Chapel, 15525 S. 73rd Ave. (155th/Wheeler Dr. & Harlem), Orland Park, IL with a Visitation from 10:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m. with a Funeral Service to follow at 11:00 a.m. To uphold safety guidelines, all guests are asked to wear a mask and respect social distancing requirements. Interment Washington Memory Lanes, Homewood, IL.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to Trinity Christian College, 6601 W. College Dr., Palos Heights, IL 60463 are appreciated.
