Carolyn D. “Carrie” Vander Woude, nee Hendrikse, age 97, beloved wife for 68 years to the late Stewart S. Vander Woude (2017). Loving mother of Cheryl (Charles) Marcus, Marcia (Charles) Kooger, James (Jayne) Vander Woude and John (Janna) Vander Woude. Cherished grandmother of Christine (Tom) Vos, Curt (Kara) Marcus, Cari (Gavin) Maclean, Peter (Mike Brown) Kooger, David Kooger, Tatiana Kooger, Cintia Kooger, Levinski Kooger, Jennifer (Brody) Reyes, Daniel (Cristina) Vander Woude, Jon (Michelle) Vander Woude, Julia (Joey) Horn, Nathan (Sienna Glavin) Vander Woude and Kenton (fiancée Abby Fortunato) Vander Woude. Dearest great-grandmother of 26. Preceded in death by her siblings John (late Jeanette) Hendrikse, Tannie Hendrikse and Ruth (late Leonard) Kloet.
Carrie was born and raised in Sheboygan, Wisconsin. She attended Calvin College (now University) and became a teacher. She also spent several years as a teacher’s aide in special education.
Visitation Saturday, July 25, 2026 from 1-3 p.m. with a Funeral Service to follow at 3:00 p.m. at Colonial Chapel, 15525 S. 73rd Ave. (155th/Wheeler Dr. & Harlem), Orland Park, IL.
