Caridad Vergara

Caridad P. Vergara, age 81. Former teacher, childcare provider and retired florist. Loving daughter of the late ex- congressman, Jose D. Parayno and the late Preciosisima R. Parayno. Beloved wife of the late Ronald S. Vergara for 48 years. Loving mother of Gerard (Roniciel), Anthony (Michelle) and Lucia (Robert) Vergara. Cherished mama to Armando, Mateo and Maya. Devoted sister of the late Delfin (Lolita) Parayno, Antonio (the late Ross) Parayno, Josefina (the late Onides) Oviedo, Aurea (Marcial) Favila and Maria (Cresencio) Ramos. Dear aunt to many nieces and nephews. Caridad loved her family very much, always talking about how proud she was of her children and grandkids. She loved watching her grandsons in their dance performances and basketball games, cheering loudly for them and asking when the next one would be. She enjoyed doing crafts and baking with her granddaughter. She was very good about staying in touch with her siblings, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, always calling to check-in on them. Caridad was such an extrovert, making friends everywhere she went and people called her "Caring," “Cari” or “Carrie” for short. For those that knew Caridad, she left a lasting impression on everyone, even if it was a brief encounter.

Visitation will be held on Friday 3-8 p.m. Funeral Saturday 10 a.m. from Maher Funeral Home to St. Lawrence O'Toole Church, mass 11:00 a.m.
