Beverly K. Schweda

July 5, 1940 — July 3, 2026

Beverly Kay Schweda, 85, passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of the family and friends whose lives she touched so deeply. Beverly’s greatest legacy is the love she poured into those around her.

Devoted wife to her late husband, Kenneth Schweda, Loving daughter to the late William and Lillian Henschel, Dedicated mother to Curt (beloved partner Jeannie) Grigas and Gina (Brian) Furlong, Stepmother to Kenneth (Andie) Schweda, Karen (Rob) Legreid, Paula Berto, and Peter (Jennifer) Schweda, Loving Nana to Curtis (Liz) Grigas, Jessica (Joel) Nagle, Stephanie, Samantha, and Shannon (beloved partner Ryan) Furlong, & many step grandchildren, sister to the late Joan Kennelly, wonderful aunt to Brett and late Brad Bartlett, and nothing brought her more joy than being a Great Grandmother to Cami, Marley, McKenna, Lochlainn, and Keegan, each of whom held a special place in her heart. She will also be missed by her feline companions, Pixie and the late Kenusha, who provided endless comfort and joy.

Beverly was the heart of her family and a true matriarch whose greatest joy was caring for others. To know her was to know unconditional love, kindness, and a nurturing spirit that made everyone feel welcomed, valued, and at home.

Beverly devoted her life to serving those around her. For more than 30 years, she cared for generations of children at Trinity Lutheran School in Tinley Park. To countless students and families, she was far more than a familiar face. She was a source of comfort, encouragement, and genuine compassion. Her gentle presence and caring heart left an imprint that will never be forgotten. During her retirement, she found great joy in caring for her great-grandchildren and traveling with her late husband, Ken, visiting countries all around the world.

A talented artist with a deep appreciation for beauty and creativity, Beverly found joy in expressing herself through painting. She also cherished life’s simplest and most meaningful moments, especially the time she spent surrounded by her family. Whether sharing stories, celebrating holidays, telling jokes, or simply enjoying each other’s company, every gathering was made more special with her favorite glass of Merlot raised in celebration.

Even in her final year at Bickford of Tinley Park, Beverly continued to do what she had always done best, building meaningful relationships and brightening the lives of those around her. She formed treasured friendships with fellow residents and made a lasting impression on the dedicated staff, who came to know and love her for her warmth, grace, and genuine kindness.

Beverly’s legacy is not measured by the years she lived, but by the countless lives she touched. She taught those around her the importance of kindness, generosity, selflessness, and unconditional love. Her influence will continue to live on through her family, her friends, the children she cared for, and all who were fortunate enough to know her.

Though she will be deeply missed, her love will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her. Her memory will forever be a blessing.
