Barbara Hankins

Barbara A. Hankins, nee Minyard, age 85, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family on September 8, 2021. Beloved wife for 68 years to Mel Hankins. Loving mother of Dewayne (Deborah) Hankins, Cathie Halpin, Trisha Gosewisch, Jalye (Christopher) LaPorte and the late Robin Hankins. Cherished grandmother of Jessica, Jennifer, Ryan, Dewayne, Billy, Joe, Lisa, Brittney and Jake. Dearest great-grandmother of Roberta, Tyler, James, Jay, Alyssa, Mya, Andrew, Madison, Thalia, Elizabeth, Diego, Riley, Gabby, Hudson, Grady and Martin and great-great-grandmother of Matthew. Dear sister of Bonnie Gills, Laverne Bell and the late Ernest Minyard.

Long-time member of Medinah Shriners. She loved children and the Shriners Hospital for Children. Barbara was also a past Potentate lady.

Visitation Sunday, September 12, 2021 from 2-7 p.m. Funeral Monday, September 13, 2021 at 8:30 a.m. from Colonial Chapel, 15525 S. 73rd Ave. (155th/Wheeler Dr. & Harlem) Orland Park, IL to St. Michael Church, 14327 Highland Ave., Orland Park, IL. Mass 9:30 a.m. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Alsip, IL.
