Barbara Ann Dorl

Barbara Ann Dorl, nee West, was born in Chicago on September 27, 1930 to Clarence and Ebba West.

Barbara was proud of her Swedish heritage especially on Christmas Eve when we looked forward to the traditional Swedish smorgasbord meal. She deemed herself an artist where her natural talent was exhibited in her love of sketching and oil painting.

She attended Calumet High School from 1945-1949. After high school, Barb attended Augustana College where she majored in Speech Pathology from 1950-1952.

Following her education, she married Thomas T. Dorl on May 29, 1954 at Grace Methodist Church in Chicago, IL celebrating 65 years of marriage at the time of his passing.

Barbara was the beloved wife of the late Thomas (2019), and is survived by her daughter Nancy Mondry (Joel), son Kent Dorl and grandchildren Kevin Mondry (Christine), Katie Kreft (Andrew) and the late Keith Mondry who passed away on June 29, 2023. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren Andrew Kreft, Freddy Mondry and Donovan Mondry.

We will miss her wit and sense of humor. God rest her soul. She is now at peace in the Savior’s loving arms.

Visitation Tuesday, February 10, 2026 from 9:00 a.m. until time of Funeral Service 11:00 a.m. at Colonial Chapel, 15525 S. 73rd Ave. (155th/Wheeler Dr. & Harlem) Orland Park, IL. Interment Chapel Hill Gardens South, Oak Lawn, IL.
